Tell It Tuesday with B. Parker!|Pray Out of Unhappiness

Sometimes praying is hard. You might question how God can listen and help every single person in the world, if they’re all praying at the same time. You might wonder if He even hears you. If He even cares, or if He is even there.

Maybe you are tired of praying. You don’t see results, so you give up. Maybe you think He just doesn’t want to help you.

Maybe you don’t think He can help you. You might not see how anything can get better.

Perhaps you don’t even know how to pray. Or you can’t even form the words to say. You might be tired, and overwhelmed, and can’t get your thoughts together. Or you can’t seem to pray out loud, but you fear He doesn’t hear your prayers when they’re silent.

I want to say this: Pray.

Pray when it’s hard.

praying-crying-woman When you’re barely able to speak. When you can’t even think of anything else to say.

{ Psalms 66:17 I cried out to him with my mouth;
his praise was on my tongue.}

Pray, even when you think God isn’t listening. When you think He is ignoring.
{Jeremiah 29:12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.}

Pray, even when you think your problems mean nothing to Him. When you think they’re not important enough. When you think He has way more people to help before you.

{Psalm 145:18 The LORD is near to all them that call on him, to all that call on him in truth.}

Pray, when you think there’s nothing He can do. When you think He’s done everything possible.

{Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”}

Pray, because He knows it’s hard for you to pray. He knows that you’re coming to Him, even when times are hard. He understands when you don’t even know what else to say. In your silence, He hears you. He isn’t ignoring you. He might be saying, “just wait”. Your problems are important to Him. You are important to Him. He isn’t done. He is continuing to work in your life, even when you think there’s nothing more He can do. With Him, all things are possible.

Yours Truly,

Brittany Parker
