The Art of Hairstyling began at a very young age for Joi with family members being her first muses. Braiding was the beginning and she gained school wide popularity in high school for mastering different braiding styles. Joi decided that she wanted to take her passion to the next level so she enrolled at Vatterott College for the Cosmetology Program in 2008. After graduation, she went on to work at Great Clips, Remy Hair Salon and is currently running her own business under the Voila! Studio Salon. Joi has been a licensed cosmetologist in the State of Missouri for 6 years. Her work has been seen at the Black Women Rock 2011 Fashion Show, Zaneta Bailey’s Fashion Show and the 2013 Missouri Black Expo. Staying up on the latest trends is important Joi therefore she has continued her education in areas of crochet weaving, braidless sew in and fusion weaving. Her goals for 2013 are to become a Certified Keratin Complex Specialist and advance her education on Cutting and Coloring. “I love working with natural hair. That is where it originates, encouraging the health of the hair and helping it grow.” says Joi
