• What’s Next for Black Men?

    By Gerard McClure Jr.

Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourself and to all the flock, over which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

How many times do I have to watch another brother get killed by a police officer live on television and the internet without the killer serving any prison time? It’s very hard to keep believing in a system that continues to spit back in my face with a smile right afterwards. It hurts my soul to know still at anytime in the 21st Century that I could be gunned down by a cop just for having a wide nose.CoC-_AP_Banner

The mass shooting in Dallas that occurred I don’t condone. Although I have a question, what does the world expect when you keep reminding us that specifically black men don’t matter? As a black man it gets tough to empathize with anyone else when your brothers and sisters are being slaughtered with no remorse. As a black man it gets tough to empathize with anyone else when you hear CNN say some craziness like if he/she wasn’t this or that they would be alive.

I live to be great and I won’t allow anyone stop that. I pray for unity all the time because we all need each other. I don’t care for those evil, crooked people out there sent to destroy. This weather has been all kinds of crazy lately and I believe that is a warning from God.

I don’t know what’s coming next, but I just hope it leads to positive change instead blood shed and lives lost.

    Peace and Love.

Editor’s Note: At this point be prepared for a spiritual battle. People of God always exude the strength of God no matter what. We are not here to live in fear. We are here to love, serve, protect and most importantly forgive one another. It’s a hard thing to do, but pray for your enemy. Pray for those out to get you. God will have the final say. God will win. And we will stand strong.
